چکیده
Coastal wetlands, the major component of coastal ecotones with indispensable ecosystem services, are threatened by anthropogenic disturbance, resulting in continuous loss functions. wetland restoration can be implemented to deter losses; however, it is unclear whether could provide appropriate habitat for birds using on ecotones. Here, we utilize a newly restored as an example investigate impacts bird diversity, and test hypothesis - if reasonable pattern created, more will attracted, thereby helping decision-makers develop efficient sustainable strategies. We used Fragstats landscape analysis, derived variability different patterns independent sample T-test Mann-Whitney U test. The results suggested that exhibited positive effect attracting birds, total 70 species, 35 families, 15 orders being recorded over three-year period after restoration. Passeriformes main accounted 52.8% species. Additionally, waterbird i.e., Ciconiiformes Anseriformes, 24.67% number species wetlands increased annually, especially during overwintering breeding period. Furthermore, this study indicate water-centered mosaic-type consisting relatively low degree separation high patch connectivity was beneficial types birds. density, biodiversity index, evenness dominance index habitats were all higher than those even patches sharp boundaries. In particular, attracted migratory waterbirds such Anas zonorhyncha , Aix galericulata Mareca penelope Hydrophasianus chirurgus Emberiza pallasi Xenus cinereus Spatula querquedula which expanded range projects. This illustrated combined creation reference degraded ecosystems zones.

Considerations for Monitoring Breeding Birds in Great Lakes Coastal Wetlands
One goal in indicator development is to implement long-term monitoring that will track the relative condition of the indicator over time. Among the first steps in establishing a monitoring program is to develop a sampling design that adequately characterizes the indicator to be monitored as well as the cost-effectiveness of the program. We used breeding bird data collected in Lake Superior and ...
متن کاملProtect coastal wetlands in China to save endangered migratory birds.
Evaluating the significance of protected areas for biodiversity and ecosystem services is important for nature conservation. In a recent issue of PNAS, Xu et al. (1) present valuable information on provision of biodiversity and ecosystem services by China’s nature reserves. They conclude that reserves serve bird populations moderately well. However, the importance of coastal wetlands for migrat...
متن کاملSoil physicochemical conditions, denitrification rates, and abundance in north Carolina coastal plain restored wetlands.
Over the last century, North Carolina has seen a severe reduction in the percentage of wetlands and a rise in negative environmental impacts related to this loss. To counter these effects, efforts have been enacted to mitigate wetland loss and create new wetland areas. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of hydrological restoration at several sites in the North Carolina coastal...
متن کاملStimulating nitrate removal processes of restored wetlands.
The environmental and health effects caused by nitrate contamination of aquatic systems are a serious problem throughout the world. A strategy proposed to address nitrate pollution is the restoration of wetlands. However, although natural wetlands often remove nitrate via high rates of denitrification, wetlands restored for water quality functions often fall below expectations. This may be in p...
متن کاملLandscape metrics as predictors of hydrologic connectivity between Coastal Plain forested wetlands and streams
Geographically isolated wetlands, those entirely surrounded by uplands, provide numerous landscape-scale ecological functions, many of which are dependent on the degree to which they are hydrologically connected to nearby waters. There is a growing need for field-validated, landscape-scale approaches for classifying wetlands on the basis of their expected degree of hydrologic connectivity with ...
